If I have pesticides to dispose of, I dispose of them by: delivering them to the SD Department of Agriculture's Waste Pesticide Collection Program, returning them to the manufacturer, or disposing of them in a specially designated landfill.
If I store pesticide containers to dispose of at a later date, I triple rinse them and store them in a specially designated secured area that does not allow them to be dispersed by wind or any other manner.
If I burn pesticide containers, I only burn pesticide containers that did not formerly contain organic mercury, lead, cadmium, beryllium, selenium, or arsenic compounds and only an amount equal to one days use or an amount of containers that does not exceed 50 pounds.
If I bury pesticide containers, I only bury an amount of containers that does not exceed more than one day's accumulation or an amount greater than 50 pounds. I only bury containers that have not formerly contained organic mercury, lead, cadmium, beryllium, selenium, or arsenic compounds.
